Gallavanting in NYC - Day 1

After a reasonably uncomfortable 10+ hour bus ride, we finally arrived at the Hostel in NYC. We stayed at Hostelling International, and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it really was (I've never stayed in a hostel before ;) ). All sorts of cool activities for guests (especially good if you're flyin' solo) and really neat interior design happening.

just getting into the city
After we dropped off our bags we were all quite famished so we went out for breakfast, we wanted to go to "Toast" as seen below, but it didn't open until 12.. for breakfast.. which was weird, so we opted for "Hot and Crusty" - sounds super 'appealing' right? Not really, but it was pretty delish, I really wanted one of their giant cookies - didn't get one.
We did actually go to Toast, just to meet with the rest of the crew though.

After stuffing our faces we went on a walk through central park which was supposed to be brief but ended up taking up the majority of the day. It was okay though, a really nice day for walking about. Weather was crazy warm while we were in NYC.

While we were on this very lengthly walk we ran into Sammy! If you aren't sure who Sammy is, check him out! He's also on instagram (sammyandthecity). Sammy's owner was super nice and let us take pictures with the little cutie :)

We finished our wandering about and headed back to the hostel and then to MoMA. (Free on Fridays 4 - close). It was PACKED.

After a very lengthly day, we ended it by going to Times Square and eating at Bubba Gump's. So yum.
